How Long Should I plan to stay in Bangalore India? (For overseas or out of state patients)

This will depend on the type of procedure that you plan on having.  Call +91 934 382 6182 to speak with the doctor regarding your specific case.

Typically, if you are having a medical abortion you will only need a few hours in Bangalore, India.

For a first trimester abortion you will need to plan for a full day.

For a second trimester abortion you should plan at least a two day stay but it could be longer due to your reaction to the procedure.

Should I bring someone with me?

We do encourage you to bring a friend or partner with you to act as a moral support. However, we do have a number of single women coming into the clinic so having a companion join you all the time is not necessary.

What should I do to prepare for the abortion procedure?

Please come to our clinic calm and relaxed, we will take care of anything.  Be sure not to drink alcohol within 48 hours of the procedure.

You should wear comfortable clothes and pack your personal items. You should also refrain from aspirin for 48 hours as well.  Please refrain from eating on the same day, as you should have an empty stomach for the procedure.

What should I expect at the Hospital?

You should expect professional, courteous and uplifting service.  Everyone at the center is there to make sure that you have a safe procedure and are as comfortable as possible.

You will be taken to the consultation room and the nurse will perform all the necessary tests and prepare you for the procedure.

What should I do after the abortion?

You should take all the medications that are given to you.  Your menstrual cycle may be later or earlier than expected and slightly heavier, but it will regulate.

You should begin contraception following the abortion because the ovulation process will resume.

In order to prevent infection you should take the following steps for 2 weeks.

  • No intercourse or douche
  • Do not go swimming or take a bath in the tub
  • Do not do strenuous exercise or lift anything in excess of 15 pounds.
  • Avoid aspirin, alcohol and drugs as this can lead to heavy bleeding.
  • Refrain from using tampons until your next period.

Do you provide contraception and post abortion counseling?

Yes – following your abortion you will be given contraception advice and offered counseling.
